GATC's Cream of the Crop was recorded live June 17 &18, 1978 at Donte's in North Hollywood, California with "Bones" Howe as the engineer. Originally released by Pye Records from London, and Subsequently by Sea Breeze Records in California, Jazz Mark records now presents this classic album in compact disc format.

Selections include: Strike up the Band, Here's That Rainy Day, Rebel Rouser, L'il Bit, Rock Bottom, I Got Rhythm, Recuerdos, Star Wars Suite, When I Fall In Love, Recuerdos, Life's Too Long --PLUS-- two tracks not on the original album: Carl Fontana's Stardust and Lover Man by Frank Rosolino.

This is the only album on which Fontana and Rosolino appeared together, and is Rosolino's last jazz album before his untimely death in the fall of 1978. It has become a standard for jazz lovers, especially trombonists, and is now available for the first time from Jazz Mark on Compact Disk.
